چکیده
A 65−year−old woman was admitted to the emergency room with right lower quad− rant abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, and chills. She had a history of com− plicated cholecystectomy with secondary stenosis of the common bile duct, which was treated with biliary stents for 24 months. On physical examination, she was febrile (38.6 8 C), with tenderness in the right lower quadrant and a negative psoas sign. Laboratory tests revealed a leukocytosis of 15.2 109/l and an elevat− ed C−reactive protein level at 8.2 mg/l. The bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, and gamma−glutamyl transferase levels were within normal limits.

Thermo-mechanical behavior of shape memory alloy made stent- graft by multi-plane model
Constitutive law for shape-memory alloys subjected to multi-axial loading, which is based on a semi-micromechanical integrated multi-plane model capable of internal mechanism observations, is generally not available in the literature. The presented numerical results show significant variations in the mechanical response along the multi loading axes. These are attributed to changes in the marten...

Endoscopic biliary stenting is today the most common palliative treatment for patients suffering from obstructive jaundice associated with malignant hepatobiliary tumors or benign strictures. However, recurrent jaundice, with or without cholangitis, is a major complication of a biliary endoprosthesis insertion. Thus, stent removal and replacement with a new one frequently occurs as a consequence...
متن کاملPercutaneous transhepatic biliary stenting in patients with intradiverticular papillae and biliary strictures caused by ampullary carcinoma: A case report
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography with endoscopic sphincterotomy is a well-established procedure for the treatment of bile duct strictures. However, the procedure is difficult to perform in patients with intradiverticular papillae or tumor infiltration of the major papilla. Percutaneous transhepatic biliary stenting (PTBS) is commonly used in the management of malignant biliary str...
متن کاملLate-onset severe biliary bleeding after endoscopic pigtail plastic stent insertion
Here, we report our experience with a case of severe biliary bleeding due to a hepatic arterial pseudoaneurysm that had developed 1 year after endoscopic biliary plastic stent insertion. The patient, a 78-year-old woman, presented with hematemesis and obstructive jaundice. Ruptured hepatic arterial pseudoaneurysm was diagnosed, which was suspected to have been caused by long-term placement of a...
متن کاملRadiotherapy Prolongs Biliary Metal Stent Patency in Malignant Pancreatobiliary Obstructions
BACKGROUND/AIMS Biliary stenting is the most effective decompressive method for treating malignant biliary obstructive jaundice. Although the main cause of stent occlusion is tumor growth, few studies have investigated whether stent patency is affected by the combination of cancer-treatment modalities. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of local radiotherapy on metal-stent patenc...
